I also received this charge and I do not recall doing anything that would charge me this fee. It appears to be the faculty of agriculture at the university of Alberta and I noted that they have an online donation web page. I am wondering if my card number was stolen and this was used as a test. I notified the bank and cancelled my card. I have also notified the U of A.
Followup- I figured all of this out and it was completely my fault as this was a legitimate charge against my credit card. This is a valid U of A account for the faculty of Agriculture. That faculty is associated with the Devonian Gardens and if you purchase tickets to events that happen at the gardens this is the account used to process the charges. In this case I had bought tickets to the Luminaria event for December but I did not read the receipt properly as it is clearly stated on it that credit cards will have UOFA - ALES ONLINE EDMONTON AB written as the payee.
I don’t recognize this charge....
This is a charge from the U of A botanical gardens
Yes, this is what it says when you purchase tickets on-line for the Devonian Gardens.
I had an $8 fraudulent charge attempted on my account under this description. My debit card has only been used locally in-person. I canceled it and got a new one.
This was on my card for 8.00$
