The same charge has appeared on my statement also. It relates to an expired deal offered by the Mantra hotel group for local residents around Hervey Bay, postcodes 4560 to 4700 only proof required. I have attempted contact with the Hotel group and the bank to rectify.

Yes i made a booking to stay at the Mantra Hotel on the Gold Coast, the fee come out about 3 weeks before i stayed there.
I have this twice on my credit card - two amounts debited then credited back to my account. As it's in Australian dollars and there's a conversion fee, I've lost over $240.

I've just been charged $8996.89 to this account on my credit card with absolutely no knowledge of any transaction. Definitely a scam. Have cancelled my card now that it has been compromised.
I've also been charged over $759 in Austrailian dollars under the name of PEPPERS/MANTRA/BKFREE. Did you guys make a payment on Accor membership by any chance? It seems to be the name of hotels affiliated with Acor.
I stayed at mantra cairns in and did not recognize this charge as it is on a card do not usually use for this purpose. Plus the card charge date is weird but I think that is when it became nonrefundable. Seems legit...will go back and check all my other credit cards now jsut to be safe.
