I cancelled this illicit charge 5th of February 2016 and was assured it was cancelled. However, it continues and they now owe me a refund of 47.96, plus interest, plus $100.00 to cover my costs. Don Beckett

About a year ago I got on a Website about doing your Irish roots (Family Tree). I subscribed to it but I soon decided I didn't want it anymore because I still had lots of my Canadian roots to do. I thought I cancelled but $11.99 is still being taken off on my Visa Credit card. I started getting the $11.99 off in September/2015 and it still being taken off! Better now than ever I just seen your ad about this last night on the Internet. What do I do? Go to the Bank where I got the Credit Card in the first place? JAH

About six months ago, I was surfing the web to find out some information about the location of a friend. I only used this site once and couldn't remember which one it was. Ever since then, I have been getting a bill of $11.99 being charged to my Visa Credit card every month by this Company called ARCHIVES CA DUBLIN. I have been trying to get my Bank Intervene on this charge but they said I have to phone the company responsible but to no avail. . I don't remember signing for any contract with this company at all and would therefore like to stop them from charging more money to my credit card without rendering any service to me.

I am presently on the phone to my bank. They cannot find an e-mail address or phone number for this same $11.99 charge. Their Security is going to make a fraud report. Then I will have to change my credit card as the only way to block them. In other words, the company is NOT in the Republic of Ireland, nor is it one of the genuine sites. It is not an official site from Dublin, California either. So making this report and getting a new card is the only option I have

This is one of those 7-day trial for $11.99 tricks. If you don't tell them they will automatically charge your card monthly. They have a website (archives.com it takes a bit of maneuvering but I eventually was able to get to manage my account and unsubscribe.

the only way you can use the 1-888 number is if you have a US zip code. Im from Canada and cant use that system. There is no push 0 for operator. Frustrating. I will try the web site Archives.com

$11.99 charge from ARCHIVES CA DUBLIN appeared on my VISA card July 9. I have no idea what this charge is for. I have called my VISA Security and they have refunded the charge and cancelled my credit card and will be reissuing a new card.

Ever since I sent in my DNA in to Ancestry.com. I did get my results back on my ancestry web page. I noticed that the results came back from Irland. This is when these extra charges started to come in on my credit card. 11.99$ each and every month. Yes I am going to inform my credit card company not to allow any more charges from this outfit.

If you are from Canada hit "1" instead of "2". You will get an operator. Didn't have any problem cancelling after that.

I learned recently that $11.99 has been added to my Visa bill each month for many months. I found this site and followed other people’s experiences on how to cancel the account. Apparently, I used the site once last year without charge and was advised that a fee would be charged after two weeks if I did not cancel. I can’t recall with certainty if I cancelled or not, or forgot or just put it off. On examination of Visa account recently, I noticed the ongoing billing.

It is a site that is FREE, but then they charge you automatically if not canceled. I tried changing the credit card with a new one and this did not work: but finally phoned this number...1-888-896-4442 and got the subscription canceled. Its for newspaper clippings and affiliated with Archives.com

Just contacted 1-888-896-4442, ext 1 and was able to cancel the subscription. This site takes your credit card information to access "free" genealogy and voila - you have a subscription. Other genealogy sites do not request your credit card information - read the terms and agreement info before giving any credit card info!!

I started seeing this on my AMEX card a few months ago. Tried calling the number on their website and I got Dublin California City Hall. They never heard of archives ca. The I tried AMEX and they said I couldn't just stop the payment. Glad I found this site, the $11.99 will be charged again in a few days so I'll try the 1-888-896-4442 number and enter 1 since I'm from Canada. Hopefully I can finally get rid of this useless charge.

You can call to cancel billing there an affiliate of ancestry. So they get your billing info from them here the direct line to cancel. 1-888-896-4442. Best of luck

$11.99 being withdrawn from my credit card as well. Have contacted PC Financial and they haven't been helpful. Cancelling a current credit card and reapplying for a new card will solve the problem.

I however, cancelled my card and did the cancellation process through their website as I did not trust them to stop charging my account.

I am having the same issues as everyone else on this page. Joined a site for newspaper archives and for newspaper clippings a couple of years ago. My Visa credit card is charged monthly from ARCHIVES CA DUBLIN for $11.99. My bank cannot stop payment as the bank's online help's response is: "There is no stop payment option for purchases made with your credit card, a convenience cheque or otherwise with your credit card account. If you have a valid dispute, CIBC may be able to assist you." Really frustrating that the CIBC VISA or the bank cannot stop these charges and then also seeing this charge every month, also not knowing or have the ability to access the website is impossible, because I can't remember which one it is for. Tried the site mentioned previously, www.archives.com, my account information says it is a free one and they do not have credit card info for this account. Where ever I got the subscription from I really don't remember and I don't know where the charges are from. So if I called the 1-888-896-4442 number and entered 1 for Canada, how would I actually get it cancelled? Not sure if contacting the email addressed previously mentioned (Archivessupport@archives.com) will rectify the situation and the charges but I will try. Very frustrating... A couple of options to check and see. If I am successful will update my response here.

This is a charge for a membership with archives.com. Go to the website and login with your email and password. Then go to the "your account" link (top right corner under your login name). Once in there click on the help icon and scroll down to the "How do I cancel my Membership" and click on the link for "Membership Options". You will be able to cancel from that link. Good luck!

I have never been on this site. Do not want to be on this site. I suggest you put the monies back in my credit card account as I am reporting you to the local police and every credit debit visa card I have. What you are doing is totally illegal. I never gave permission for you to take a nickel. You are charging me since July for 11.99 a month. I will give you till Friday to get this monies back in my account or you are looking at some serious charges. I do not ^$#! around when it comes to this !$^# but so I better see my money and fast. I just called (1-888-896-4442) and apparently, I had done a search of Archives.ca and authorized a free 14 day trial after which I had been charged $11.99/mth. The rep (Colleen) said that she was authorized to give me a 3 month refund on my credit card.

I do not remember ever visiting this site let alone subscription. I've tried cancelling it 11.99 monthly. No luck since then my visa expired and I recieved a new visa debit card with a different number and money is still coming out of my account. Bull!$^#!!! I'm calling the bank today!
