I had this charge on my visa showing as a pending transaction from two days ago . When I called my credit card company they told me it’s for a subscription of something but they didn’t know of what . They then told me that the transaction happened in Germany and it was manually entered without the credit card being there . This really scares me because I have not left the province of Alberta and used my credit card anywhere

Hi Shantel (and future others reading). I've seen that charge many times, I help friends with their bank statements and see this repeatedly. Those charges come from a worldwide site / mobile app called Rebtel for international calling. Many people download it on their phone to add credits to their account and call internationally. Its like buying a calling card from the store but its easier to use the app and use a card to purchase minutes to reach family/friends overseas. Rebtel is tech company in Sweden, Germany and typically that's where the charges are processed. they are in fact Legal. If the charges are not done by you, maybe someone close to you is using yours or authorized user card(s) to make these purchases, you'd have to find out if anyone is using Rebtel. I hope this helps. If it is causing you problems with your account, you could ask your banking institution to block those transactions permanently. here's the site from that company. https://www.rebtel.com/en/
