Mine too was Minute key at Walmart in Scarborough, though looks like the final cost of the key is more than what I was expecting. Thanks guys, I was going to report a scam to my bank!

Glad I checked out this site as I had no idea what this was. However, I too purchased a key at Minute Key at Walmart in Ottawa although the charge seems a bit less than I thought. I will watch to see if an additional charge comes to my account.

I was suspecting why there are two charges on my credit card from Soda Snack Vending. I have never bought soda or snack from a vending machine. I read this website that ring a bell when I saw someone post about the Minute Key machine.

Jack in BC on July 18, 2019

Minute key self-serve machine at Canadian Tire. New machine - good keys, but it asked if I wanted an emailed receipt. I selected No, but it didn't print out a paper receipt, so when this showed up on the credit card statement I didn't recognize it.

Raphaella Bersani on September 24, 2019

Khushdeep on October 04, 2019

Used key cutting machine at walmart in delta BC. But credit card shows soda snack vending Toronto ON

Don on November 16, 2019

Yes, we had keys duplicated at an automated kiosk in Wal-Mart near Vancouver. The keys worked great, billing was to Soda Snack Vending in TO who obviously makes these machines. NOT A SCAM, reputable and reliable company. The billing did catch our eye but we were able to figure it out.

diane bundock on December 21, 2019

I too had purchased a key from Walmart key kiosk and I asked for email receipt. The receipt shows 3.99 plus tax Total $4.51 Why are they charging extra 1.50? What is this for? Some kind of fee? Does it mention somewhere regarding this fee?

June on December 30, 2019

I got thru to Minutekey customer service rep to inquire what the 1.50 charge was and she told me that fee is charged by my bank for using a vending machine service.

West coast on January 17, 2020

Thanks for letting me know that it was for the Minute Key Cutting at Walmart. I was scratching my head as I only use a vending parking meter and never buy snacks.

neill on March 03, 2020

Yes, Walmart: nothing to do with soda, but a key cutting "vending" machine, that's correct.

Lynda on June 10, 2020

I purchased keys at Kiosk at Canadian Tire and it showed up as Soda Shack. Valid purchase for me.

Raelynn on September 14, 2020

The "Soda-Snack Vending Toronto ON" charge on my credit card was from buying a bucket of balls at a driving range in Calgary, AB (McKenzie Meadows)

Bill on October 16, 2020

I bought 2 buckets of balls at driving range in Haliburton by credit card.

Jazz on June 10, 2021

Thank you all so much. MinuteKey in Walmart Ptbo. Totally thought it was a scam. Shesh!

Lar57 on June 12, 2021

A $10 charge showed up on my card today. I'm pretty sure it was from a self service "Seatle's Best" coffee vending machine at the 401 highway (west bound) Mallorytown Encore rest stop. I input my VISA credit card but then was unable to find how to add milk, so abandoned the machine without any coffee...but now a $10 charge?!

Do you know what the source of this charge is?
